Have You heard about the New Retreat Venue 2014 ?!

If you receive our updates via e-mail you will have heard, but for the many that read our blog only, we have great news ; a new venue has been found for next years' Wellington Area Felting Retreat.
And that is El Rancho in Waikanae, only 10 minutes south of the Otaki Bridge Lodge, where of course we were in the years  past. Just click on the name and you can check it out.

The big bonus is that the twin room motel-type accommodation is all flat access, right next to the hall and carparks. There are three buildings housing 7 x 2 bedrooms, with a kitchenette/dining room and three showers and toilets each. We will make our breakfasts in our kitchenettes, tea and coffee as desired etc. The felting area is in an adjacent hall, somewhat smaller than Otaki although the camp believe it will take 40 of their trestles, plus there are covered walkways between the bedrooms and hall for us to use. The hall has a kitchen with Zip and we may use the sink for rinsing. The hall does have thin commercial carpet floor covering, so we will need to lay tarpaulins under our tables when wet felting. The hall and accommodation encircle a grassed 'quad' area for drying our creations and sunning ourselves! Lunch and dinner meals will be served in our dining area which is 5 minutes’ walk back up the drive. The dining room is large and 'L-shaped' so the short end could possibly be used for exhibiting items, a reading area, traders etc. Alternatively traders may wish to 'open' at chosen times, from their rooms or the kitchen/dining area in their accommodation. Being a Christian camp we are unable to take alcohol to the main dining room for dinner, but people may bring and consume pre-dinner drinks and nibbles in our living area. There is access to a pay washing machine and dryer within the camp grounds. There is also a swimming pool if there's a heat wave!

We encourage day visitors, but if you want to felt for the day we cannot guarantee space if we are fully subscribed.
While all our wish list may not be covered at this venue, we hope that people will enjoy the higher standard of the venue and give El Rancho a trial run.
The cost for the full live-in retreat will be $220 pp. Full day visitors (incl. lunch & dinner) $40 and lunch only $25. People requesting a variance on length of stay will be charged a pro rata rate.
Sharon and Lynn are your Wellington Area Felting Retreat  2014 booking organisers, and will call for payment of full fees in December and confirmed bookings will be made on a first come, first served basis.
Please contact Sharon Ferguson for registration details sharonandrod@hotmail.co.nz and also if you have any other questions.
A big Thank you goes out to Sharon, Flo and Lynn for their hard work, and more to come!
