Hi Florence, Realising we all had the same problems, 9 felters from the Waikanae-Foxton and Palmerston-North groups planned a get together to share ideas and hopefully provide motivation that has been sadly lacking with us all.
We met at a very pleasant garden centre last Thursday for lunch.
After, we had a show & tell and surprised ourselves at the range and variety of articles on display.....Felt and tulle roses that looked good enough to pick. A triangular shaped primitive German doll with eye catching locks of brightly dyed hair.....to name just a few.
The ensuing discussion brought forth such a raft of good ideas that suddenly we were keen and motivated again.
The end result...we were all keen to try out some of the ideas discussed and decided to meet again at the end of January 2012, choose one of the ideas and plan a workshop around it.
As none of us are bloggers we enjoy the newsletter and think the "round robin" idea of passing the Australian newsletter on is good.
We appreciate the effort you are putting in to produce the newsletter to keep members informed what is happening in the felting world.
Regards
Mollie Pickering
Thanks Mollie for your letter - yes blogging takes up far too much felting time, but I appreciate the effort you made to write. It is inspiring to know there are keen workers out in the world who want to share their knowledge.
